This is a detail of “inner astronaut”, which I finished in December 2017. It is kind of an unusual self portrait. I took up the “Grisaille serie” again last year after I finished the first two pictures in 2009.
With this technique I can concentrate more on the forms than on the colour and it gives the work a simple and elegant expression. When I additionally inflict the gold it does not look overloaded with this limited palette.
I will experiment some more with this technique and try to modify it for my own needs.
